A long history of service

AMA's history actually dates back to the late 1930's, but flight operations officially commenced in 1959. We hope these pictures share a bit of our rich history of service to the wonderful people living on this Island.

Engine repair in Sentani. On the right pilot, mechanic, Franciscan Karel Hermans OFM (served AMA van 1959 to 1973).
Severe accident in Waghete, Paniai, on February 3d, 1961. This accident documents a miracle: All four passengers survived, albeit severely wounded. The accident was caused by a spontaneously sheared/broken propeller blade at profoundly the wrong moment.
